Sleep....Finally

I'm afraid to type it, but I think sleep is finally upon us. He has now slept through the night on multiple occasions. If you could see me now I'm dancing a little jig (now that I have the energy to do such a thing). Naps seem to have settled into a routine for now as well.
First bite of saltines

We started offering real food such as saltines, bread, crackers and so on. We haven't done the infamous cheerios yet, but only due to the lack of grocery shopping. We also put up baby fencing this week so I can at least run to the bathroom with out fear of what he is eating.
Baby Jail

The girls and I heaed to the Florida Aquarium. We had a great time, and Caleb seemed to really enjoy watching the fish. The front pack is finally reached it's limit for long trips and he has graduated to the backpack for our weekly hiking trips.

Erruption

Not one but two little pearly whites are showing through.

Life as we know it {is over}

The day is now filled with no, don't chew on that, that's the dogs toy, and where are you going. Although he's still moving like an inch worm, the pace has quickened and he's moving through the house. Watch out dogs!

A temper has now been introduced as well. I can quickly tell when nap time is due when frustrations rise and so does the sound of his voice. He's starting to protest the removal of objects, especially the green solo cup used at bath time. It makes it more difficult to rinse the soap off.

Sitting up comes easy now. Yesterday I caught him opening the nightstand drawer and trying to pull himself up. Well I don't know if he was pulling himself up or the drawer down, but either way I foresee walking right around the corner.

Thank goodness for Eeyore.
Sleep is becoming easier. He doesn't cry every time, and the times when he does it doesn't last long. Last night he slept 10 hours.

Our 6m pedi visit was this week:
18lbs (50th percentile)
29.25" (>95th percentile)
head 17"

She called him a maniac!

Success {I think}

So at least three separate times I have placed him in his crib wide awake, walked away and within 10 minutes he was asleep. No fussing, no crying, no fits.

I want to breathe a sigh of relief, but I think I will continue to hold my breath a little longer.

Tonight he only cried until I closed the door! Things are getting better.
He loves his Eeyore

Creeping Forward

Everyone says how fast time will fly. One day you give birth and the next they are heading off to college. Although college is still a little ways off, time does seem as though it's been sped up. Six months have gone by in a flash. Caleb has started sitting up for extended periods of time, although they tend not to last long as he always has his eye on something else. He's getting his knees underneath him more and more telling me that crawling is right around the corner. Today I watched him take three leaps forward. It's only a matter of time.

Sleep continues to be a frustration. Today after failing to be able to put him down for a nap in the "normal" way, I laid him in his crib and walked away. He mussed around in the there for about 10 minutes and then much to my surprise went to sleep. This process repeated itself at the next nap time and at bed time. Maybe things are starting to change, or maybe I just jinxed it.

Uncle James and Aunt Robin were here to visit between Christmas and New Year's. We enjoyed the stay. I made my first bread: garlic parmesan pull apart bread  Wow was it amazing. We visited big bend, homosassa springs and the mermaids. Caleb was an angel. Surprisingly he slept great and only had one melt down in the car after a very long day.
